These concise, engaging courses provide essential knowledge about protecting children from sexual abuse for parents, all adult family members, caregivers, babysitters, and professionals including mandated reporters, while making it easier for individuals to learn at their own pace and in the privacy of their home or workplace.

What You'll Learn In Our On-Demand Prevention Courses

Our curriculums are designed to be bought and viewed one course at a time. Each training will build off of the previous video to empower you with the skills you need to be a child sexual abuse prevention leader in your family and community. In addition to learning about the key steps to keep children safe and prevent sexual abuse and harm, you will learn about safety planning, building and strengthening protective factors throughout a child's development, the warning signs of a vulnerable situation and/or person, and how to have difficult but critical conversations about prevention.

Earn a Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Certificate After Each Course

Child sexual abuse is not inevitable; it is preventable.

These words have been the guiding principle of Stop It Now!’s work over the past 30 years. After completing our on-demand video training they will guide you as well. Upon completion of one of our child sex abuse prevention videos you will receive a certificate that shows your successful engagement with the material and proves your ability to keep children safe. We encourage you to keep your certificate on-file and share it with your community to invite others to explore their own commitment to a culture of prevention.

Jenny Coleman, LMHC, has been working in child welfare as an educator, clinician, and advocate for 30 years, and she has been Stop It Now!'s Director since 2015. Jenny narrates the Introduction to our Courses, Course 1: Prevention Essentials, and the yet-to-be-released Course 4: Children’s Behaviors. Micah, MS, is a Lead Helpline Consultant and Training Development at Stop It Now! with over 10 years of experience in social services. Siân, L.Ac., M.Ac., has worked in social services since 2009 and with Stop It Now! since 2017.  She was drawn to this work by a deep curiosity about how the primary connections we share with each other can contribute to healing change - a curiosity which also guides her work everyday. Siân's intelligent and sensitive communication can be heard in the soon-to-be-released Course 3: Children’s Behaviors. Introduction to Courses


This free, brief course introduces you to the Online Training Platform and to the work of child sexual abuse prevention generally. To introduce you properly, we:

  • Review the origins, mission, and vision of Stop It Now! as an organization
  • Explain the concepts of primary prevention, adult responsibility, and perpetration prevention
  • Summarize how we work to accomplish our mission through trainings, education, advocacy, and help services like our Helpline and What's OK?
  • Provide step-by-step guidance on enrolling in the Online Training Platform's Courses, accessing the Courses, and navigating the Courses and Dashboard of the Platform

Course 1: Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Essentials

In course 1, you will learn about sexual abuse and feel confident in talking about child sexual abuse so that you can create safer, protective environments for children. environments where you are able to take action to prevent child sexual abuse and respond to risks.

To do this, we will:

  • Describe child sexual abuse prevention and prepare you for your role in keeping children safe.​
  • Identify key prevention concepts​ and steps.
  • Learn about child sexual abuse statistics and impacts.
  • Define and explore the steps to creating a safety plan
  • Discover the importance of reinforcing, modeling, and redirecting behaviors.

NOTE: Course 1: Prevention Essentials is a pre-requisite training for Course 2: The Role of Healthy Sexuality in Prevention.

Course 2: The Role of Healthy Sexuality in Prevention

Course 2 is a continuation of what you learned from Course 1. It is made up of 2 lessons: Healthy Sexual Development and Everyday Actions to Keep Children Safe. In Lesson 1, you’ll learn why healthy sexual development is key in the prevention of child sexual abuse, as well as about healthy sexual development for kids of different ages. In Lesson 2, we will empower you to identify and practice prevention tasks with children of all ages.

To do this, we will:

  • Review normal, healthy developmental behaviors (including understanding the nature of healthy play).
  • Describe the relationship between sexual development and prevention.​
  • Identify specific prevention tasks for children and youth of different ages.​
  • Explore consent and healthy touch for sexual abuse prevention​
  • Show you how to be an approachable adult who can talk to to kids about sexual abuse and safety.
