Circles of Safety: Awareness to Action for Professionals Working with Parents and Professional Caregivers

Description: Circles of Safety is a primary sexual abuse prevention training introduces key sexual abuse prevention concepts and skills. It prepares staff and professional caregivers to confidently and knowledgably speak up and take actions to address children’s sexual safety – before they are sexually harmed or harm others.
Through lecture, reflection exercises and group activities, participants will learn how to support children’s healthy and safe sexual development; identify and respond to warning signs in children and adult’s behaviors; and design safety plans to address safe boundaries, privacy, consent and respect. Handbooks and safety tool templates included. CEs are available.
Cost for Klingberg Employees: $25 (Additional $10 for CEs.)
Audience: Professionals who work with parents and professional caregivers (foster parents, in-home parent supports, etc.)

Circles of Safety: Train the Trainer for Youth-Serving Organizations
Date: October 30, 2019
Time: 8:30am to 5pm (ET)
Location: Klingberg Family Centers, New Britain, CT
Description: Train the Trainer offers community and youth-serving organizations the training and tools they need to train their own staff and professional caregivers. This program trains organization representatives to facilitate two separate workshops within their organization: Recognizing and Responding to Children’s Sexual Behaviors and Recognizing and Responding Adult’s Sexual Behaviors.
Participants will receive a trainer’s manual and presentation materials. Participants will be eligible for a 3 year certification as a Circles of Safety Community Presenter. Note: Circles of Safety: Awareness to Action is a prerequisite.
Cost for Klingberg Employees: $55 (Includes Day 1 and 2; additional $10 for Day 1 CEs.)
Audience: Professional agency staff responsible for the development and training of field staff and professional caregivers.
